Anna Botsford, Hypnotherapy to SuccessDo you want to change the way you act in a particular situation,  perhaps you have unhelpful thought patterns or habits? In that case NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming could be for you!

NLP  is a comfortable, safe and effective way of changing thought patterns and behaviours and can be explained as follows:

  • Neuro relates to the brain and the way we process information
  • Linguistics relates to the language we use
  • Programming relates to the patterns and behaviours we have learnt

We are all unique and take in information and experience the world around us through our five senses. This information gets translated into our thoughts and our thoughts then have an effect on our emotions and behaviours.

Stop for a moment and conjure up an image of ”feeling cold”. For one person ”feeling cold” may create an image of sitting by a roaring fire, feeling warm and cosy, for another person, feeling cold may mean being miserable and damp.

So by understanding the way in which we individually process information, it is possible to learn new coping methods and transform negative behaviours. Our thoughts have an effect on our emotions and behaviours and NLP gives us tools and techniques to re-frame and change unwanted behaviour.

If you would like to know more about how NLP  can help you move from where you are now to where you would like to be, please contact me for a no obligation chat.
